Cost per lead (CPL) is the most common metric in lead generation and one of the least useful for a regenerative medicine clinic. A $35 lead and a $35 lead are not the same animal — one might be a qualified, geographically eligible prospect two clicks from booking, the other a curiosity click from three states away. CPL tells you what you paid for an inquiry; it tells you nothing about whether that inquiry becomes a patient.

The metrics that actually reveal whether a patient acquisition system is profitable sit further down the funnel: cost per qualified inquiry, cost per booked consultation, cost per attended consultation, and — where attribution supports it — cost per acquired patient and the relationship between advertising spend and attributed revenue.

Frequently asked questions

What's the formula for cost per attended consultation?

Cost per attended consultation = total advertising spend / number of consultations actually attended in the period. It is the clearest single number for whether your follow-up and scheduling system is working.
